The paper- mill at Ranheim was founded in 1884 and is situated near Trondheim, Norway. There are 2 paper machines which produce about 100 000 tonnes annually. The most important products are : Testliner/Fluting, Coreboard, Greyboard and several types of paper for special purposes.
We use exclusively brown recycled paper in our production. This paper is referred to as OCC (Old Corrugated Containers) and is collected in Norway and Sweden. The fibre quality is considerably higher than in continental Europe due to greater use of virgin fibres such as Kraftliner and Semi-Chemical fluting in the corrugated boxes. This contributes to Ranheim being able to produce paper qualities from 100% recycled fibre, but with strength properties similar to Kraftliner.
Solid board is ideal for packaging which is exposed to changes in temperature.
It is the perfect alternative for moisture and freeze-friendly packaging. Solid board is an homogenous laminate which has been glued together using several layers of liner.
Solid board can be customized to suit the packaging needs of the company. Water-resistant paper qualities are used in the construction of boxes which are exposed to a lot of moisture. The outer liner can be printed and can be with or without a plastic coating.
Solid board is also used as a stabilizing material in furniture, as a protective layer during transport and even as a part of building components.
Ranheim Paper & Board plays a dominant role in the Nordic solid board market.
